Author Guidelines

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PUBLICATIONS

Articles submitted to the journal must meet all outlined requirements, be original, not previously published, and not under consideration by other journals. Authors bear full responsibility for the authenticity and originality of their work. Manuscripts must be written in English.

When submitting a manuscript, authors are strongly encouraged to include a cover letter that highlights the essence of the research and suggests potential reviewers. The Editorial Board considers original research articles, review articles, and short communications (see Manuscript types). Submissions may present studies on the synthesis of organic and organoelement compounds, targeted synthesis of novel or natural compounds with promising pharmacological properties, investigation of structures and the chemical, physical, and biological characteristics of new compounds, as well as research into chemical kinetics, reaction mechanisms, pharmacological screening, structure–bioactivity relationships, analytical method development and validation for chemical substances including APIs, drug products, dietary supplements, or bioanalytical methods for toxicology and pharmacokinetic studies, along with work on the standardization and quality control of pharmaceutical products, etc. (see Aims and Scope).

REQUIREMENTS TO THE STRUCTURE OF ARTICLES

Authors should adhere to a clear structure, with section headings indicated in semi-bold.

Template for research articles

Template for review articles

Authors should adhere to a clear structure, with section headings indicated in semi-bold. Each article typically includes an Introduction, which outlines the research question and its relation to significant scientific or practical challenges, reviews recent publications (including the authors’ own relevant work), and highlights unresolved issues. The Materials and Methods section (or Experimental Part) describes the procedures, methods, and characterization of compounds in sufficient detail to ensure reproducibility; this section may also be placed after the Results and Discussion. The Results and Discussion section should thoroughly present and justify the findings. The Conclusions summarize the key results, possible applications, limitations of the current study, and future research directions.

Every manuscript must also include a statement on Conflict of Interests, addressing any potential financial, professional, or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing the work. The journal applies Elsevier’s conflict disclosure standards. The list of references follows in order of their citation in the text, and finally, information about all authors is provided, including full names, academic titles and degrees, affiliations, country, phone numbers, emails, and ORCID identifiers. For review articles, authors should also indicate their scientific interests.

The statement regarding funding agencies must be provided, otherwise one should be indicated "The authors received no specific funding for this work."

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE TECHNICAL DESIGN OF ARTICLES

Manuscripts should be prepared in Times New Roman, size 14, with 1.5 line spacing on A4 pages, using margins of 3 cm on the left, 1 cm on the right, and 2 cm on the top and bottom. The text should begin with the UDC in the upper left corner, followed by the authors’ names, affiliations (numbered where applicable), and the title, which should contain 10 to 12 words and not exceed 95 characters including spaces. Please avoid abbreviations and acronyms in the title.

An abstract must be provided in both English and Ukrainian, without subdivisions, and though its length is not restricted, it should clearly reflect the core of the work. Recommended sentence structures include phrases such as “It has been determined…” or “The contribution has been assessed…”. Following the abstract, authors should supply 5 to 8 keywords. Provided keywords are supposed to increase the chance to find the article via search engines. For your guidance, one can use keyword catalogue.

The manuscript should minimize the use of trademarks in titles, abstracts, and keywords. Drugs should be referred to by their international non-proprietary names, adding the manufacturer’s name in parentheses only if relevant to the study. The SI system must be used for all units. References are cited in square brackets, with source numbers separated by commas (e.g., [7, 8, 12–14]).

Figures, schemes, and tables must be clear and labeled with captions or titles, numbered sequentially in Arabic numerals, and free from unnecessary details. Authors are encouraged to submit figures in .jpg or .tiff format as separate files named fig1, fig2, etc. Chemical structures and schemes should be drawn in ChemDraw using the ACS Document 1996 style, with logical and consistent numbering. References should follow ACS standards, include DOIs where applicable, and avoid excessive reliance on monographs, conference abstracts, web resources, or teaching materials; if URLs are cited, the access date must be provided. Journal titles in references must be abbreviated according to CAS guidelines. After the references, a brief author biography is included, listing titles, positions, ORCID IDs, and email of the corresponding author.
